May Deals Roundup: New Cards, New Trading App, New Deals!
May has been a great month for deals! We saw not one, but two new credit cards launched, each with their own sign-up promo. The month also saw a new trading app jumping into the competition, giving away free shares and cash credits. On top of that, other promos have been upsizing their rewards, some to new all-time highs. What a month it is!
New credit cards and trading app!
New products are fun, and even more so when they come with good sign-up rewards. These stuff from HSBC, StanChart, and CGS-CIMB are just that.
The HSBC TravelOne promo essentially lets you buy 20,000 miles by paying the annual fee of S$194.40. A good price if you ask me, since each mile is now going for around 1 cent each. A rarity these days, it lets existing cardholders of the bank qualify for the promo too, while new to HSBC cardholders get to stack both the HSBC Revolution and HSBC TravelOne promos together. StanChart Journey replaces the X Card, and offers many of the X Card’s features while throwing in bonus categories to earn more miles on. The sign-up promo looks fantastic with up to 45,000 miles to be earned, and I will analyse the worthiness of this promo really soon so stay subscribed to the Telegram.

Upsized deals
New products may be exciting, but familiar ones can also surprise you with higher-than-usual rewards.
Maybank, for instance, is offering as much as S$200 cash credits when you sign up as a new-to-bank cardholder. This is double of their usual S$100 reward, and you may also opt for getting two suitcases or AirPods instead of the cash credit.
DBS is pulling out all the stops to put DBS yuu card into everyone’s wallets, and with an insane 18% rebate rate as well as an all-time high of S$350 sign-up offer to get, why haven’t you signed up yet? Even existing DBS/POSB cardholders get a generous S$120 sign-up offer!
Instarem Amaze is also having an upsized 1,000 points sign-up offer – that’s 5 times of its usual 200 points offer. If you haven’t given it a look, now is the time to do so as it is still very useful despite a few nerfs here and there.
