It has only been half of the month, but October has been quite eventful for credit cards! Even better, they’re positive updates and great deals, so if you’ve been too busy to keep up, here are all the notable credit card deals and news.

New Cards to Look At
There have also been a couple of new cards that I’ve featured in the past few weeks.
Mari Credit Card gives 5% Shopee coins on Shopee purchases with no minimum spend required! Perhaps even more impressively, there is also no maximum cap to this earn rate. So small and big shoppers of Shopee will find this card immensely useful.
DCS Flex is a new cashback-miles hybrid card, though it really isn’t that useful for miles. As a cashback card, however, it seems to be able to replace pre-nerf UOB EVOL. Read my full review to find out more.
Buffed! Old Cards Learning New Tricks
A few older cards have also seen their features and benefits improved. In a year where there has been more nerfs in the first half than the entire 2023, it’s a refreshing change of pace.
UOB PRVI Miles now offers 4 lounge visits – something the card once lacked. It also offers a pretty decent 3 miles per dollar earn rate on transactions in a few neighbouring countries. UOB also has a relatively rare deal ongoing now, so check that out if you are about to sign up as a new UOB cardholder.
At 8% cashback, Maybank Family & Friends was a good card before, but now it’s been made better as there are now even more categories of spend that would get 8% cashback. It’s definitely something to look at if you like cashback/value.
