Spending Promos: Get Extra Cashback and Miles From Amex and DBS
American Express and DBS have launched new offers for existing cardholders to get bonus rewards on their spend. Register for these spending promos with the respective apps to get extra cashback/miles on top of your usual card rewards.
Easy and Good Amex Offer: get S$5 cashback on S$10 transactions
Until 18th October 2024, a new Amex offer is available that offers S$5 cashback for transactions made via Amex Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay. Each transaction must be at least S$10 to qualify, and you can get this offer twice per card. This offer will also work at any merchant that accepts American Express, making this a very easy promo to take advantage of.
The offer is targeted which means not every Amex card will get it, and you will have to check the Amex app to see if it is found under your card. I found it under 2 of the 5 cards I have with American Express, and it does not seem to be offered to co-branded cards like UOB Absolute or DBS yuu Amex.
Only 10,000 slots are available for this promo, so register before it runs out. Other offers are also available, such as SP Mobility (don’t get too excited; it’s not SP Utilities) and Popular, so check through the offers with your app to see if there is anything relevant to you.
If you don’t have an Amex card already, definitely sign up for one soon as the current offer is great and about to end soon.
DBS/POSB Cards Wonderful Cashback 2024: get S$88 for hitting your spend amount
From 18th September to 31st October 2024, charge shopping, dining, and travel spends to your DBS/POSB cards to get bonus S$88 cashback when you hit your target spend amount.
I’ve personally received a pretty high S$3,500 target amount while a friend got S$5,000 despite hardly using his DBS/POSB cards.
You have to be one of the first 100,000 cardmembers to register for this promo via the PayLah! app and your spend amount will be revealed upon registration. See more details on DBS’s website.
DBS Altitude Offer: get 5 miles per dollar for online travel spend
Until 30th September 2024, DBS Altitude is offering as much as 5 miles per dollar for online travel spend. You have to first register in the PayLah! app.
The Spend Goal is S$1,000, and the 5 miles per dollar earn rate is capped at the first S$2,000 of online travel spend. It should stack with the above S$88 promo, making this an excellent promo if you are able to hit both spend requirements at once.
