5 Apps That Can Give You Bonus Miles
When it comes to collecting miles, taking flights and using credit cards aren’t the only ways you can get more. Here are 5 apps that you might not be using that can accelerate your miles collection! Some, however, you may not want to necessarily want to use for miles which is also something worth taking note of.
HeyMax
HeyMax is one of the best apps to use now if you’re into miles because it can give you bonus Max Miles when you make purchases through the site, or when you buy vouchers from it. It is also the account you need to have to receive the Max Miles you earn using your Chocolate Card.
Buying air tickets from Singapore Airlines? Start your purchasing journey by clicking through on HeyMax’s site first so you can get extra Max Miles for your transaction. Buying something at IKEA? Consider buying IKEA vouchers from HeyMax so you can get bonus miles for your furniture.
One downside is that Max Miles currently cannot be converted into KrisFlyer miles directly (you’ll have to go through yuu for that and take a haircut on the conversion), but with many airline partners to choose from, I suggest keeping your Max Miles for more exotic airlines that can get you better value. Kris+
Kris+ is Singapore Airlines’ very own payment app and it is naturally a good choice if you want to earn more KrisFlyer miles for your next flight. You can use the app to make payments in-store at participating stores all over Singapore or buy deals in the app itself. The transactions are charged to cards you have already linked in Apple Pay or Google Pay, which means you will earn both rewards from Kris+ as well as what your credit card offers you.
On top of just being a payment app, Kris+ often has promos like discounts and extra benefits. For instance, I often pay with Kris+ at Aburi En for my bonus miles, and doing so even gets me free ice cream. There are also frequent promos that you can get updated on when you stay subscribed to my Telegram.

yuu App
yuu App started life as a purely rebates app, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the app didn’t land on many miles enthusiasts’ radar back then. Since late 2024, however, yuu App and its companion DBS yuu Card have definitely become part of every conversation we have about miles given the staggeringly high 10 miles per dollar earn rate.
Ever since, yuu Points can be converted into KrisFlyer miles at a ratio of 3.6 yuu Points to 1 mile. Because each yuu Point can be used at a value of 0.5 cents, this is giving up 1.8 cents per mile. I described whether or not it is worth it in my video (5:39 to 8:13), but the gist is that I would try to use yuu Points for rebates as much as possible, but I would also use some of them for KrisFlyer miles.
Converting to KrisFlyer miles makes even more sense when there are transfer bonuses such as this way a couple of weeks ago, and that lasted all of 2 hours after I posted about it so it’s important to stay subscribed and leave notifications turned on so you don’t miss sensitive updates.

FairPrice Group
When you use your FairPrice Group App to pay for your food at Kopitiam outlets or earn LinkPoints at NTUC FairPrice, do you know that you are also potentially earning miles? LinkPoints can be converted to KrisFlyer miles at a ratio of 100 LinkPoints to 50 KrisFlyer miles, so your dad or mum who does the grocery shopping might in fact be sitting on a pile of miles.
Note that 100 LinkPoints is equivalent to S$1, which means that converting your LinkPoints into KrisFlyer miles is akin to buying each mile at 2 cents. Given how you are able to buy miles through other means at lower cost per mile, this route may not represent the best of value. Also, sometimes the best way to earn more miles are through ways that require you to give up the use of your FairPrice Group App when buying groceries at NTUC FairPrice.
Nevertheless, if you are a bit short on miles for a redemption flight you have to book quickly, LinkPoints can give you a quick and easy boost. LinkPoints can be converted instantly into KrisFlyer miles, and sometimes it is justifiable to pay a premium for instant gratification.
CapitaStar
Another common form of points you may have is likely in the form of CapitaStar STAR$. With the numerous number of malls under CapitaLand Group, CapitaStar app allows you to earn STAR$ quite easily at various shopping malls. STAR$ can normally be used at at a value of 0.1 cents each to offset your purchases at retail stores and restaurants that accept payment via the CapitaStar app.
You can also convert STAR$ into KrisFlyer miles at a ratio of 9,880 STAR$ to 380 miles. Since each STAR$ is worth 0.1 cents, this is the equivalent of buying each KrisFlyer mile at 2.6 cents each. As discussed earlier, if 2 cents per mile is pricey, 2.6 cents per mile is really quite exorbitant. This conversion is hence not advisable for many people, particularly those who wouldn’t pay a much higher premium for business class flights in the first place.
However, similar to what I described about LinkPoints earlier, if you are truly in need for a relatively small number of miles and have no other avenue to turn to, CapitaStar App does have the ability to instantly convert your STAR$ into KrisFlyer miles.
