Breaking: yuu Rewards Club Adds KrisFlyer Miles Redemption – DBS yuu Card Can Now Earn 10 Miles Per Dollar!!
Last year, I declared DBS yuu Card as my Cashback Card of the Year. Given that the year is almost coming to an end, it’s seems almost certain that the card will reign another year. However, it looks like the team behind the card isn’t content with just maintaining their cashback crown because yuu Rewards Club has just added KrisFlyer miles as a redemption option.
Yes, the rumours and teasers are true – you can very soon convert your yuu Points into miles for your business class flights with Singapore Airlines! This also means that the DBS yuu Card is unparalleled whether you like cashback or miles.

From 3rd October 2024, yuu users can convert their yuu points to KrisFlyer miles at a conversion ratio of 3.6 yuu points = 1 mile. Since the DBS yuu Card can earn as much as 36X yuu points per dollar spent, a simple calculation tells us that the DBS yuu Card is now a 10 miles per dollar card. In an environment where 4 miles per dollar has been a top-tier earn rate for miles cards, 10 miles per dollar is so far ahead that you simply cannot ignore DBS yuu Card if you are into miles.
If you spend just S$600 per month on DBS yuu Card – the minimum required to unlock DBS yuu Card’s high earn rate – you will get a hefty sum of 6,000 miles each month. This means it will take less than 9 months for a one-way business class flight to Japan. To put this into perspective, someone who spends S$600 per month on a 4 miles per dollar card will only earn 2,400 miles, taking almost 22 months to achieve the same trip.
A while ago, I joked with a friend how yuu might eventually add KrisFlyer miles as a redemption item, and my growing stash of yuu points would translate into business class adventures:

Well, in a way, we were both right – conversion of yuu points into KrisFlyer miles has now become reality. At the same time, my friend was indeed correct that there was no way 9 miles per dollar was going to be a thing. Believe it or not, a realistically achievable 10 miles per dollar card is now king of the hill when it comes to miles cards.

No Conversion Fees, Almost No Minimum Required
Transferring yuu Points to KrisFlyer is as easy as redeeming other stuff you’d find on the yuu app. You’d find the option in your yuu app under the “Me” tab.
What you won’t find are… conversion fees! While almost every bank charges an arbitrary S$27.25 fee for converting bank points to miles, there is no such charge here.
Also, unlike many credit cards that mandate transfers to be done in blocks of 10,000, KrisFlyer transfers within the yuu app lets you transfer any number you wish. The minimum is also almost non-existent with just 200 points or around 55 miles required to begin the process.
These are all good things that we should demand of other miles cards.
The Value Showdown Between 18% and 10 Miles Per Dollar
Of course, yuu points remain fully usable at its usual 0.5 cents per point value. As self-proclaimed Captain of Team Value, do I want to give up 3.6 yuu points for each mile? That is giving up 1.8 cents per mile! Normally, I wouldn’t do it, but the situation is a bit different here.
My yuu points have become a great way for me to save on everyday essentials, from just 300 points for my teh peng from Toast Box to the regularly discounted foodpanda vouchers. Despite using my points often, my stash has just been growing over the past year or so given how high the earn rate of the DBS yuu Card.
In my account alone, I have 286,641 yuu points:

I could trade them all for Giant and Cold Storage vouchers for my grocery needs or foodpanda vouchers for my meals, but there’s only so much I can use on such categories. Being able to transfer for miles is an excellent way of cashing out large amounts of yuu points at once, especially if they are soon reaching their 2-year expiry dates.
The great thing about yuu points is that they are now even more flexible than ever with the addition of KrisFlyer miles, and I don’t have to choose right now. It now makes even more sense to accumulate yuu points, because you can decide later what makes more sense.
Offset Cost of Living or Travel Experience? yuu can choose!
With the addition of KrisFlyer miles, yuu points have become more versatile than ever before, giving you the ability to choose between helping with daily expenditure or obtaining travel experiences.
If traded for things like grocery vouchers, my 286,641 points is worth at least $1,433 which is quite a bit of cat food and diet soda. Should Toast Box keep up their 300-point redemption for their drinks, my points can settle my daily tea breaks for the next 955 days. For those who want to, yuu points can go a long way in offsetting their cost of living.
On the other hand, these yuu points can soon be redeemed into almost 80,000 KrisFlyer miles. This would get me nearly the amount required for a return trip to Perth and Maldives in business class. I had planned to eventually use my stash of points for grocery vouchers and/or everyday expenses, but now there’s something more exciting to choose.

Going though the DBS Yuu card T&C, vouchers purchases for Giant/Cold Storage is under the exclusion list. Is it true that I will not earn the 10mpd if I purchase vouchers from Giant/Cold Storage?
