DBS Vantage Flash Offer: 80,000 Miles For New DBS/POSB Cardholders; 60,000 Miles For Existing
Until 6th June 2023, apply for a DBS Vantage Card and get yourself 80,000 bonus miles if this is your first DBS/POSB card, or 60,000 bonus miles if you already have existing DBS/POSB cards. There is a minimum spend of S$5,000 required to get the bonus miles, and this has to be clocked within 30 days from card approval. Make sure you sign up below with the appropriate promo code.
Promo analysis
Typical of S$120,000 annual income requirement cards, DBS Vantage requires cardholders to pay an annual fee of S$594 (S$550 + 8% GST) to own the card. In essence, you can see this as an opportunity to buy miles.
| Number of Miles | Cost Per Mile |
| 80,000 | 0.743¢ |
| 60,000 | 0.99¢ |
These are great rates regardless whether you are a new or existing DBS/POSB cardholder. Based on my conservative valuation, miles are worth 1 to 1.25 cents, which means that you should always buy them when the cost per mile drops below this valuation.
You also get a further 1.5 miles per dollar on the S$5,000 spend which is another 7,500 miles. While not a 4-mile-per-dollar card, 1.5 miles is about the highest one can get out of an unlimited, no condition card unless you venture into the S$500,000 income realm of cards that give 1.6 miles per dollar.

Free hotel stay and other perks
The deal is compelling on its own just to buy some cheap miles, but the card also comes with a variety of perks like free Accor Plus membership which grants you one free night’s stay at one of their hotels.
You also get a Priority Pass membership that gives you 10 free lounge visits a year. Even if you have other Priority Pass memberships, it’s very useful to bring in a group of people to the lounge.
These are great perks to have and you can enjoy them on top of the bonus miles.

Should I apply for DBS Yuu Card first?
There is a concurrent DBS Yuu Card promo that offers an upsized S$300 sign-up gift to new DBS/POSB cardholders, and S$80 to existing ones. If you are new to DBS/POSB cardholders (or cancelled your cards with the bank more than 12 months ago), you might be wondering which card to give up your precious first-time status to.
The difference in cashback between new and existing cardholders is S$230 for the DBS Yuu card, while the difference in miles for the DBS Vantage promo is 20,000 miles. The simple Math here would be whether you value 20,000 miles more than S$230.
At a 1-cent valuation, the 20,000 miles is worth S$200. At 1.25 cents each, it’s S$250. It’s quite close in value at these valuations, but if you are someone who values miles more DBS Vantage would be an obvious choice.
In any case, DBS currently has a bunch of cards that give rewards to existing customers! These two other promos end at a later date, so you should sign up for the DBS Yuu and DBS Vantage first before going on to apply for the below… through my links, of course 😉 Thanks for the support!
