If you want an extra S$5: transfer to bank account via YouTrip

Score: 10/10

The first and best way is to use YouTrip to cash out your Child LifeSG or NS LifeSG credits. If you’re already an existing user, just follow these steps (or watch a video tutorial on TikTok or Instagram):

  1. Open YouTrip app → go to Top Up
  2. Change payment mode to PayNow and save the PayNow QR code
  3. Open LifeSG app → scroll to your NS credits and tap Scan QR code to pay button
  4. Import the QR code from Gallery button (lower right)
  5. Go back to YouTrip app → go to Transfer → Tap on Withdraw to Own Account

The process should be instant, so this is a great option to quickly get your cash in a few easy steps.

If you’re a new user, download YouTrip with this link for a bonus S$5. In my opinion, this is the best way since you get extra S$5 and you can also do this pretty quickly from anywhere you have an internet connection.

Plus, YouTrip is a decent travel card that you can use, though if you really want a great travel card you should refer to this comparison video I made.

If you want to pay bills: use AXS to pay off income tax, insurance etc.

Rank: 9/10

This is a quick and easy way to deal with your LifeSG credits too.

  1. Simply go to AXS e-Station
  2. Tap Pay With AXS button
  3. Select the bill you wish to pay
  4. Select PayNow as the option
  5. Using the LifeSG app, you can scan the QR code to make payment accordingly

Some may not like this option because they put their bills on GIRO and get 1% cashback via HSBC EGA. I should probably write a guide on this so stay subscribed for more updates.

If you can wait: use ShopeePay

Rank: 6/10

You can also use the LifeSG credits to top up your ShopeePay account and withdraw it to your bank account. The process takes some time, so this method doesn’t get that high a rank compared to the above 2 methods. From what I hear, it takes up to 3 working days for funds to reach your bank account.

Update: Note that there is a S$0.20 charge for this from 9th November 2024.

If you want cold hard cash: Sheng Siong ATM

Rank: 4/10

For some reason, cold hard cash is preferable for some people, and you can actually withdraw your LifeSG credits with Sheng Siong ATMs located outside the supermarket branches.

There is a S$0.20 fee and you can only withdraw in multiples of S$10. This means that if you have S$200, you can only withdraw S$190 with S$9.80 stuck in your LifeSG account. I’m not sure why anyone would pick this option when you have easier and free methods, but it’s an option if the other methods somehow are not suitable for you.
