Pro-tip: Charge App Purchases, Cloud Storage and Other Digital Services to Singtel Billing

Are you a Singtel postpaid customer? If so, here’s a nifty tip that helps you get as much as 17.5% rebate or 9.72 miles per dollar on things like your cloud subscription, app purchases and other eligible services.

Singtel Billing

Singtel has this service for its postpaid customers called Singtel Billing that allows you to charge your digital content services to your Singtel bill. Currently, it supports these major smartphone platforms:

  • Apple App Store
  • Google Play Store
  • HUAWEI AppGallery
  • Samsung Galaxy Store

Singtel also lists Spotify, Razer Gold, and Smule among other services eligible for Singtel Billing.

When you link your smartphone app store to your Singtel bill, what happens is that purchases are charged to your Singtel bill instead of a credit card. The charges are then consolidated for payment when your monthly Singtel bill is generated.

I use an iPhone and have been charging things like my app purchases and iCloud subscription to my Singtel bill and you should be able to do the same for the other smartphone platforms.

Benefits of using Singtel Billing

The obvious benefit for charging your digital content purchases to your Singtel bill would be to make use of DBS yuu for its excellent earn rates. To enjoy DBS yuu’s high rewards on your Singtel bill, you need to locate a Singtel kiosk and make payment for your Singtel bill using your DBS yuu card. Remember that you need to pay in person at the kiosk – online payment via Singtel’s app/website does not get you DBS yuu’s higher earn rates.

Because there is no option to scan your yuu ID for such a transaction, you will get DBS yuu’s earn rate of 9X (outside of the S$600 minimum spend) or 35X yuu Points (if you meet the S$600 minimum spend). That’s 4.5% rebate and 17.5% rebate or 2.5 and 9.72 miles per dollar respectively.

DBS yuu Card is an excellent card that gives up to 18% cash rebates or 10 miles per dollar (in conjunction with the yuu app)

Who can use Singtel Billing

As far as I know, all Singtel postpaid customers (including SIM-only plans) are able to make use of Singtel Billing. Users of telcos like GOMO, Zero1 etc. using Singtel network will not be able to do so.
