DBS Vantage

DBS Vantage requires cardholders to pay an annual fee of S$594 (S$550 + 8% GST). In exchange, you get a bunch of perks as well as miles.

Number of MilesCost Per Mile
80,0000.743¢
60,0000.99¢

There is some opportunity cost because S$5,000 of spend is required. DBS Vantage earns only 1.5 miles per dollar, which means you miss out on about 2.5 miles per dollar spent if you used a 4 miles per dollar card.

However, considering the fact that most 4 miles per dollar cards can’t quite handle S$5,000 of spend within a short time, the opportunity cost is reduced significantly, particularly for those who have upcoming big expenses they have to pay for.

Let’s also not forget that DBS Vantage comes with free Accor Plus membership which gives you a free night’s stay in an Accor hotel!
