DBS Card Promos: Miles and Cashback Offers, Even For Existing Cardholders!

While many credit card deals require you to be new-to-bank (which usually means you can’t have any of their credit cards in the past 12 months), DBS has multiple offers that work for new and existing cardholders alike.

For new cardholders: which should I sign up first?

If you are new to DBS credit cards, which card you sign up for first determines your new cardholder reward.

For someone into miles, the choice would be between DBS Altitude or DBS Vantage. If you can meet the annual income requirement of S$120,000, spend requirement of S$4,000 and can stomach the S$599.50 annual fee, DBS Vantage will give you the most miles as your welcome reward. Otherwise, DBS Altitude has a good deal now and you can opt for an annual fee waiver and still receive a sizeable number of miles for your sign-up reward.

Thereafter, you can enjoy existing cardholder offers such as DBS yuu and DBS Takashimaya promos.

For those who prefer cashback, DBS yuu is a good choice, though the sign-up reward is currently on the lower side. In the earlier half of 2024, DBS has offered around S$300 to S$388 of welcome rewards, so the current S$150 doesn’t look as attractive. Nonetheless, the high earn rate of DBS yuu means that you are incurring quite a bit of opportunity cost if you opt to wait for a better deal. Subscribe to the Telegram for updates.

For existing cardholders: 3 offers available

For those who already have an existing DBS or POSB credit card, you can opt to get the DBS Vantage for 40,000 miles when you sign up and meet the spend requirement. There are also cashback offers from DBS yuu (Amex) and DBS Takashimaya (Amex).

What to spend on?

You need to meet the minimum spend to qualify for rewards. Do note that there are transactions which are excluded. Read the terms and conditions carefully when applying.

Generally, retail transactions like buying stuff or dining out are very safe. Things like bill payments, education expenses and CardUp or ipaymy become a lot iffier and depends on the bank your card is from.

Do check out this article on what you can spend on to meet the minimum spend:
