5 Things You Can Do on the Final Day of 2025

Last-minute warrior? You’re in good company. I, too, am fond of leaving things to the absolute last day.

Here are 5 things you can consider doing before the final day of 2025 comes to a close (though some deadlines are as early as 7PM, so stay subscribed and leave notifications on so you don’t miss time-sensitive stuff in future!)

1: Donate to an eligible charity

When you donate to an eligible charity today, you can get 250% tax deduction for Year of Assessment 2026.

For example, if your income is S$85,000 and you donate S$1,000, your chargeable income will be reduced by S$2,500. With an income tax rate of 11.5% above S$80,000, this is tax savings of S$287.50.

Essentially, the government is subsidising and amplifying your charitable giving to causes you care about. If you can, do check out my fundraiser and donate whatever amount feels right to you. Nobody should have to face cancer, but it is a sad reality that even children of tender ages have to live with each day.

2. Claim your government credits (e.g. ActiveSG, CDC etc.)

ActiveSG
Get S$200 credits for new users and S$100 credits for existing users when you claim your ActiveSG credits latest today, 31st December 2025.

  1. Go to MyActiveSG+ website
  2. Sign in with SingPass
  3. Credits are automatically credited

CDC Vouchers
CDC vouchers issued to each household in January (S$300) and May (S$500) must be used by today, 31st December 2025.

You can redeem your CDC vouchers or checked whether you have spent them here.

SkillsFuture
In 2020, each citizen was given a one-off S$500 SkillsFuture top-up. This S$500 will expire today, 31st December 2025. Unfortunately, the deadline for many online courses was 30th December 2025, something that my last-minute warrior senses did not realise until today.

NTUC LearningHub LXP, however, is still accepting use of the expiring S$500 credits if you sign up before 11.15PM on 31st December 2025. I tried registering for LXP Go and it deducted funds from my S$500 credits expiring today.

3. Check for expiring points, vouchers etc.

The month-ends are always a danger zone for overlooking expiring points and vouchers. Year-ends are higher stakes, I suppose, so do run a hygiene check on your various apps and rewards programmes.

Here’re some things I can think of:

  • Bank apps for miles (e.g. DBS PayLah!, UOB TMRW etc.)
  • CapitaStar (expiring STAR$ and eCapitaVouchers)
  • Kris+ (expiring vouchers and KrisPay miles)
  • yuu App (vouchers and yuu Points)

Do chip in if you can think of anything that would expire soon, particularly at this year-end!

4: Top up SRS and CPF

If you have yet to do so, today is the final day you can top up your SRS or CPF for tax relief for Year of Assessment 2026.

SRS, in particular, has cut-off timings as early as 7PM as I have detailed in the following article:

5. Sign up for December 2025 deals

And of course, there are a few excellent deals that are ending today as well as tomorrow, so grab them while you still can:

6. Subscribe for more deals and updates, and see you in 2026!

Here’s a bonus 6th item: if you’re someone who wants to earn more from credit cards, savings accounts and other financial deals, stay subscribed to the Telegram (or WhatsApp) so you can be notified of news and deals. Leave notifications turned on so that you don’t miss time-sensitive updates!

I’ve also made a self-indulgent recap of my 2025, so check it out if you wish. Happy new year everyone!
