Like traveling and going on… journeys? True to its name, Standard Chartered Journey Credit Card is indeed a card that wants to help you with that. On top of giving between 1.2 to 3 miles per dollar spent, there are a bunch of good promos that would help you make your next trip or two more comfortable.

Nifty travel benefits

As a travel-oriented card, the Standard Chartered Journey Credit Card comes with a bunch of useful perks and benefits for your trips.

Free lounge visits!
It offers 2 complimentary Priority Pass lounge visits each year. This allows you to visit one of the many Priority Pass lounges worldwide twice a year free of charge, or bring along a guest for one visit. Just this alone is reason enough to apply for the card itself, since free lounge visits are always nice during your holidays.

Complimentary travel insurance
On top of that, you are covered under complimentary travel insurance of up to S$500,000 when you charge your travel fare to the card. For more comprehensive coverage, Journey cardholders can choose to buy MSIG TravelEasy insurance and enjoy an upfront 45% discount.

Exclusive Grab promo code
Going to the airport is also cheaper with S$10 off your Grab ride to/from Changi Airport with the promo code SCCHANGI which only works when you charge your ride to the SC Journey Credit Card. This can be used a total of 5 times (total of S$50 value) which is more than enough for getting to the airport and heading home after your trip. This is until 31st December 2023 or redemptions run out.

0 transaction fee for foreign currency spend in November and December 2023

Going somewhere at the end of the year? The SC Journey Credit Card offers 0 foreign transaction fee when you spend in foreign currency during the months of November and December 2023.

Coupled with the fact that the card offers 2 miles per dollar on foreign currency transactions, this means you can earn miles faster without paying the usual foreign exchange fees.

Moreover, this foreign currency transactions earn rate is unlimited, so if you’re planning to go on a shopping spree overseas at the end of the year, few cards come close to the usefulness of Standard Chartered Journey Credit Card.

Both options require a min. spend of S$800 within 60 days. I recommend opting for the fee waiver unless you are okay to pay S$196.20 for 10,000 miles.

This promo requires you to sign up for the card only.

🎁 Promo 2 (Card + Other Product)

Apply as a new cardholder by 30th August 2026 and choose 1 gift¹:

⚠️ Requirements For Promo 2

  1. Make sure to fill up the SingSaver Rewards Redemption Form or no gift will be given.
  2. Make sure physical card is activated
  3. Spend at least S$800 within 60 days of card approval
  4. Plus: sign up for at least one of the following:
    • Apply for: StanChart Bonus$aver, Standard Chartered EasyPay, CashOne Personal Loan, or Credit Card Funds Transfer with SingSaver link
    • Easiest: Credit card funds transfer of min. S$1,000 for 3 months

Terms and Conditions: [1] [2]

For reference only; refer to exact details in terms and conditions

The 45,000 miles are made up of 10,000 miles when you pay the annual fee of S$194.40 and another 35,000 miles when you hit the spending requirement of S$3,000 within 2 months of card approval date.

While I don’t think paying the annual fee for 10,000 miles is worth it, those who want to get a bunch of miles quickly may consider this option.

Spending S$3,000 for 35,000 miles, on the other hand, is great value. Also, you will get the credit card miles earned from the card:

SpendEarn Rate
Local transactions1.2 miles per dollar
Foreign currency transaction2 miles per dollar
Online transactions on transportation, grocery and food delivery merchants3 miles per dollar

Have a great Journey!

Standard Chartered Journey Credit Card is really quite aptly named. Not only does the card give you a bunch of miles for your next flight and access to a nice airport lounge before taking off, it even gives you Grab promo codes for your journey to the airport.

The only thing remaining now is for someone to pack my luggage for me.
