Best DBS Cards to use for flights

While every DBS or POSB card is eligible (except for DBS UnionPay Platinum Debit Card), the following cards have higher earn rates for booking flights online:

DBS CardEarn RateSpend Cap

DBS Woman’s World Mastercard
4 miles per dollarS$1,000 per month
(4,000 miles)

SAFRA DBS

DBS Vantage

DBS Altitude
1.3 miles per dollarUnlimited

You might also wish to consider DBS yuu. The card only earns 0.5 yuu Points for flight bookings, but such spend count towards the minimum spend of the card which can help you unlock its high earn rate. Refer to this calculator to see if it makes sense.

Other cards to use

It is worth noting that other cards might get you a better deal.

For instance, booking a S$1,000 flight with DBS Woman’s World Mastercard under this promo will net you 3,800 miles and S$50 savings. If you maintain at least S$50,000 with your HSBC EGA and use HSBC Revolution, you would get 8,000 miles. The additional 4,200 miles for using HSBC Revolution may be more worth it to you over getting S$50 savings.

Another promo to consider

I should also mention that DBS has been tying up with Trip.com to offer 50% off flights (capped at S$200, not limited to Singapore Airlines) every Monday which could prove to be a significantly better deal.

Here’s my adventure trying (and half-succeeding) to book a discounted flight:
