Kris+ Challenges: September Mastercard Challenge, MILEstone Quest, Welcome Back Offer

For the month of September 2024, Kris+ is offering a few challenges to score extra miles. In my app, I see the usual monthly Mastercard challenge, a new MILEstone Quest, and a Welcome Back Offer which is possibly targeted at users who haven’t been using Kris+ for a while.

Check the Challenges tab in Kris+ to start each challenge and read through the terms and conditions. For those who are not familiar with Kris+, it is a wallet app from Singapore Airlines that allow you to buy things within the app or at physical stores. You can bonus miles which can be used for flights with Singapore Airlines or – despite being called “miles” – used as cashback within the app.

September Mastercard Challenge – S$12 rebate

Until 30th September 2024, be one of the first 3,500 users to make a single transaction of at least S$100 to get S$12 rebate. The transaction needs to be made via Kris+ app with a Mastercard credit or debit card, and is applicable to both in-app and in-store purchases.

The S$12 rebate is given in form of 1,800 KrisPay miles which are instantly credited to your account upon completion of the spend. These miles can only be used within the Kris+ to offset purchases and cannot be transferred to your KrisFlyer account.

MILEstone Quest – up to bonus 500 transferrable miles

Until 15th September 2024, use Kris+ at different brands to get up to bonus 500 miles. Beyond the first brand, you get bonus 100 miles per brand you make payment at.

  • 1 brand visited – no bonus miles
  • 2 unique brands visited – 100 bonus miles
  • 3 unique brands visited – 200 bonus miles
  • 4 unique brands visited – 300 bonus miles
  • 5 unique brands visited – 400 bonus miles
  • 6 unique brands visited – 500 bonus miles

For the avoidance of doubt, you can get a total of 500 bonus miles for this challenge if you make payments at 6 unique brands. It’s not a lot, but each payment just needs to be at least S$5 to qualify. Transactions on Pelago and Dcuisine are excluded.

“Unique brand”, as the name suggests, means that you need to shop at different brands. Making transactions at three different Challenger stores, for instance, will only count as a single brand instead of three.

Bonus miles will be credited by 20th September 2024 and can be transferred to your KrisFlyer account within 21 days from the date of credititng. Miles earned from promos like this tend to be non-transferrable, so it seems interesting to me that these are indeed miles you can use towards your next flight with Singapore Airlines.

Welcome Back Offer

Lastly, there is a challenge called Welcome Back Offer which gives 400 bonus miles with a single transaction of at least S$10 at any Kris+ partner, whether it is an in-app or in-store purchase.

The miles are credited by 7th October 2024 and can also be transferred to your KrisFlyer account within 21 days from the date of crediting.

This Challenge is probably targeted at users who have not used their Kris+ for a while. If you’re curious, I last paid using Kris+ on 11th June 2024.

Stay subscribed for more great deals and updates

Kris+ promos haven’t been as spectacular as they once were, but they’re still a good way to pick bonus miles on top of the additional miles you get from using Kris+ itself. This month, it seems like the app is testing out giving transferrable miles as rewards for some of their challenges which is quite a pleasant improvement.

In any case, stay subscribed for more great deals and updates, and turn on notifications to be informed of time-sensitive updates!
