Insane Promo: Up to 59% Discount on Dining In With foodpanda and DBS yuu

Update: it seems that the terms and conditions specify that yuu and DBS yuu card do not award yuu points for foodpanda dine-in transactions. Will try it out and see if this is the case.

For the month of October 2023, foodpanda has a great dine-in promo that sees up to 50% savings when you use the app to pay. If you’ve been following the Telegram, you would know that foodpanda was recently added as a yuu partner, meaning to say you can get 17.5% further rebate on the discounted price when you use your DBS yuu card. It is possible to get as much as 59% discount off your meals!

Promo details

Normal users get 40% discount while pandapro subscribers get 50% off. Again, those who have followed the Telegram would have gotten free 6-month pandapro subscription a few months ago.

To enjoy this promo, you need to use the foodpanda app to make payment at participating outlets. Find the “50% off Entire Bill” button to search for eligible dining places:

(Don’t be seduced by in-app advertisements telling you that you can get S$250 foodpanda vouchers with OCBC credit cards because you can get S$300 in cash instead!)

You are supposed to go to your chosen restaurant, order your dishes, then use the foodpanda app to pay. It’s a common thing for ill-trained staff to not know the many different types of payment methods available, so the app reminds you to check in with the cashier first to make sure they know what’s going on.

Enter the total price and the foodpanda discount will be calculated for you. The discount is capped at a generous S$300, which means your bill size can be as much as S$600 (for pandapro users) to enjoy the full discount. Non-pandapro users will max out the discount with a S$750 bill.

Remember to use yuu!

In addition to the 40% to 50% discount, you can get substantial rebates with DBS yuu Card. By charging your foodpanda transactions to DBS yuu Card, you can get another 17.5% rebate (4.5% if S$600 monthly minimum spend is not met).

Update:

  • Base yuu points (0.5% rebate) are not awarded even if you linked your yuu ID to foodpanda.
  • My own transactions via DBS yuu Card have received 9X points (4.5% rebate) with DBS yuu and it is likely to further receive 26X points (13% rebate).

This works for new subscribers as well as existing subscribers. I just tried and got my subscription extended by another 6 months.

Total possible: 59% off

If your dining bill came up to S$50 as a pandapro user, it will be S$25 after foodpanda’s generous discount.

With DBS yuu card (assuming you hit S$600 of spend within the month), you get another 875 yuu points for this transaction which is worth $4.37.
