HSBC Live+ 8% Cashback Lives on… For New Live+ Cardholders
HSBC Live+ was an excellent 8% cashback when it launched last year, but it came with a “built-in nerf” of sorts. Its 8% cashback was always supposed to to be a time-limited thing, dropping back to just 5% cashback after the promotional period. Originally ending at 31st December 2025, the deadline was extended to 31st March 2025 which has now come and gone.
HSBC Live+ cards issued from 1st April to 30th September 2025 31st March 2026, however, will still enjoy the upsized 8% cashback for the first two quarters.
Together with the sign-up promo and first quarter spend requirement, this is a great opportunity for new applicants to get great value from their shopping and dining.

| Card Issued Date | Upsized 8% Cashback Period | Revert to 5% |
| 1st April to 30th June 2025 | 1st April to 30th September 2025 | From 1st October 2025 |
| 1st July to 30th September | 1st July to 31st December 2025 | From 1st January 2026 |
This is the case even if you own other HSBC credit cards.
First quarter spend requirement: S$1,000 across first 3 months
HSBC Live+ also has an easier spend requirement during the first quarter. Instead of S$600 per month for 3 consecutive months, you just need to spend S$1,000 within the first calendar quarter the card was issued in. For instance, if your card is issued in May 2025, you just need to make sure your total spend in Q2 2025 (April, May, June 2025) reaches at least S$1,000.
This is useful for one-off shopping sprees and bigger purchases. The total cashback HSBC Live+ awards is S$250 within a calendar quarter and that is good for S$3,125 spend. You can read more about this in an earlier post I’ve written.
