HSBC EGA Savings Promo August 2025: Get up to 3.50% p.a. From August to September 2025

The monthly EGA promo for August 2025 is out — get bonus interest of up to 2.45% p.a. on fresh funds deposited into HSBC EGA for the months of August and September 2025. In addition with the base interest rate of 0.05% p.a. and HSBC Everyday+ Rewards Programme’s 1% p.a. bonus interest, you can get as much as 3.50% p.a. for a month.

This is a tiny drop from last month’s promo but hey, these days having a small drop in interest rates can be considered good news when we have banks slashing rates left and right. However, do be reminded that HSBC Everyday Rewards Programme’s 1% cashback has been reduced to 0.5% starting this month.

Wealth holdings

HSBC is giving higher interest for “customers with wealth holdings” and they are now more specific on the types of products that qualify for this. According to their terms, eligible wealth products means Unit Trusts, Equities, Bonds, Structured Products, Regular Premium insurance policies and Single Premium insurance policies, with the exclusion of Foreign Exchange (FX) and Dual Currency Plus.

Customers must hold at least one of these products by 31st October 2025. Like before, there is no minimum specified, so you should be able to get the higher interest by having a small amount in investments with the bank.

1% p.a. bonus interest for meeting HSBC Everyday+ Rewards programme

An additional 1% p.a. interest is awarded on fresh funds (compared to the preceding month) for meeting the HSBC Everyday+ Rewards programme.

Take note that this bonus interest will end from 1st July 2026 onwards.

Details on HSBC Everyday+ Rewards Programme

To qualify:

  1. Deposit a minimum of S$2,000 (or S$5,000 for Premier customers) in the HSBC EGA Account
  2. Make at least 5 transactions

These 5 transactions can be credit/debit card transactions or even FAST/PayNow transactions to other bank accounts. See the terms and conditions here.

HSBC Everyday+ Rewards programme’s cashback maxes out at S$300 per month, this is reached with an average daily balance (ADB) of around S$365,000 in a 30-day month like April or June, or S$353,225 for a 31-day month like May.

You can get 3.50% p.a. for one month

Together with HSBC Everyday+ programme, you can get as much as 3.05% p.a. (customers without wealth holdings) or 3.50% p.a. (customers with wealth holdings) — but only for one month. This is because the bonus interest of Everyday+ programme is applicable only to fresh funds compared to the previous month.

The promo rate of 2.05% (or 2.50%) p.a. rate will still apply to fresh funds on both August and September 2025 compared to July 2025’s balance.

Good holding account for one month

Today happens to be the day I am reallocating funds from my OCBC 360 too, so this is a good holding account for up to a month before I put the funds to better use elsewhere.

In fact, you can also register for this promo and fund only in September 2025 to get the full 3.50% p.a. at that point of time. This would be beneficial if you are worried that the HSBC EGA promo for September 2025 would be weaker than this month’s… you know, when it’s time to reallocate funds in your UOB One account.

Thankfully, HSBC EGA has more or less maintained its rates despite other major banks cutting rates for popular savings accounts. While the rates may apply only to fresh funds, EGA continues to be a great place for temporarily holding funds given you can get as much at least 3% p.a. if you stack the promo with HSBC Everyday Rewards Programme.
