HeyMax Updates: FlyAnyWhere Promo Offers Boosted 2 Cents Per Mile Redemptions, EVA Air Added

Until 7th July 2025, HeyMax is offering a promotional 2 cents per mile rate for your FlyAnywhere redemption! This is up from the usual 1.8 cents per mile, giving you more bang for your miles temporarily. It is also now possible to do partial redemptions via FlyAnyWhere.

If you want to transfer the miles to an airline frequent flyer programme instead to redeem business class flights, EVA Air is the latest airline to be added. Those who have been following my site for a while should know that it is possible to redeem Singapore Airlines flights with fewer miles with EVA Air miles, so this is pretty good news.

Boosted 2 cents per mile for FlyAnywhere redemptions until 7th July 2025

To get 2 cents per mile for FlyAnywhere redemptions, simply book any flight of your choice, and submit your claim during the promotional period. Your flight can be after 7th July as long as you make your claim within the promotional period.

Note that you do have to submit your claim by the end of the following month from purchase. For instance, if you buy your ticket in April, you have until 31st May 2025 to submit your claim. Those buying tickets in June should submit their claims before the end of 7th July 2025 to take advantage of the 2 cents per mile redemption rate. It will revert to 1.8 cents per mile for claims made after 7th July 2025.

Partial redemptions are now possible

Previously, you needed to have enough Max Miles to redeem the entire ticket price. A S$300 flight, for instance, would require 16,667 miles at 1.8 cents each (or 15,000 miles at 2 cents each), so you will not be able to take advantage of FlyAnyWhere if you only had say 10,000 miles.

You can now start using FlyAnywhere with a minimum of 1,000 Max Miles and choose to redeem the cost of your ticket partially. Only have 10,000 miles? At 2 cents each, you can get S$200 reimbursed of your S$300 ticket.

New airline partners: EVA Air and Garuda Indonesia

It is now possible to transfer Max Miles to new 2 airline partners: EVA Air and Garuda Indonesia. I’m not familiar with the latter, but I’ve had good experience redeeming both EVA Air and Singapore Airline flights using EVA Air miles for good value.

This is great news for those who have points with American Express, Citibank, and/or HSBC and intend to transfer those points for EVA Air miles. You can now supplement those 3 cards with Max Miles you earn through heymax and of course the Chocolate Card.

While this is now an obvious redemption choice, I’ll share a few of my considerations in an upcoming piece about my miles strategy soon so stay subscribed for updates.

Other odds and ends

• Direct points transfers are temporarily paused as heymax upgrades their systems and rebuild for stronger, faster integrations. Direct transfers and near-instant redemptions will be resumed gradually as new partners come onboard.
• In the meantime, redemptions will be processed as cash reimbursements within 3–5 business days.
• Minimum redemption for loyalty program redemptions will temporarily increase to 10k Max Miles starting 21st April 2025 (FlyAnywhere will start at a minimum of 1,000 Max Miles). 1,000 minimum and near-instant transfers will resume as new partners come onboard.
• From 7th April to 20th April 2025, users can still redeem with as few as 1,000 Max Miles across all loyalty programs.
• JAL and AirAsia redemptions will be paused for now

Enhancements make Max Miles more valuable

These updates are positive enhancements that make HeyMax an even more compelling rewards programme for those who are into miles. As the only Max Miles earning card right now, Chocolate Card is also indirectly buffed as a result. It is a 4% rebates card now (at least temporarily), and joins a small list of cards that can earn miles for EVA Air.
