Free AirPods and $80 Just For Signing Up StanChart Cards

What do you get when you overlap Apple stuff and credit cards? Me. I am what you get when you cross those two together. It is only apt that you can now sign up for a card through my link, get free AirPods, support my site, and oh, get $80 cashback for helping yourself and me out.
The only requirement is that you must be new to Standard Chartered’s credit cards, and complete the application before 29th Feb. Already have a SCB card? No AirPods for you, but how does $70 sound? Given that sign-up bonuses are typically for new customers, it is generous to get $70 simply by adding one more card to your collection.
The best part is that there’s no minimum spend required, unlike most sign up bonuses.

Not into AirPods? How bout $300 cash?
Which card should you apply?
Below are the cards eligible for the promotion. Applying through these links directly supports my site.
Card | Card Features | Rewards | |
X Card | 1.2 mpd (2 for overseas) | AirPods 30,000 miles** | Apply |
Unlimited Cashback | 1.5% cashback | AirPods $80 | Apply |
Spree | 2% cashback (conditional) | AirPods $80 | Apply |
Rewards+ | 1.45 mpd (dining) | AirPods $80 | Apply |
**The X Card gives you 30,000 miles but you must pay an annual fee of $695.50. That’s 2.32 cents per mile, so you should probably read my article on the valuation of a mile first. The other cards have a fee waiver for the first two years.
As my first ever credit card that sparked my entire journey into chasing cashback and miles like a crazy person, I am fond of the Unlimited Cashback card. 1.5% on everything seemed like a good idea back then.
I would, however, encourage you to sign up for the Spree card which gives a higher 2% cashback on online and contactless (PayWave, Apple Pay etc.) transactions.
Having exhausted most of my high tier cards in the past month, I actually ended up clocking so much spend on the Spree I maxed out the cashback, getting $60 last month. Not bad. I’m sure it’ll come in handy for you one day, and until that time you can enjoy your AirPods and $80.

Other referral programmes?
At the same time, Standard Chartered is urging its existing users to refer friends, giving $128 each to the referrer and the referred.

I think it’s clear whether $128 or a set of AirPods + $80 is more attractive. Even if you do want to help your friend out, do remember that you can still apply for a second card here for another $70.
Note that the AirPods is provided by SingSaver, and the $80 cashback is provided by StanChart. For existing cardholders, $50 is given by SingSaver via PayNow on top of StanChart’s $20 cashback.
