Day trip? Gifts can exceed premiums paid!

The promo is particularly useful for day trips to our neighbouring countries, with just S$40 in premiums for the Superior plan for a one-day policy, and just S$41 for a two-day one-night policy.

Despite Standard plan being highlighted as “Best Value”, I think paying S$40 for the Superior plan and getting S$55 (S$40 + S$15) in eCapitaVouchers is a better deal than paying S$31 for the Standard plan and getting S$35 eCapitaVouchers (S$20 + S$15).

It will take up to 8 weeks for the Promo Gift to be fulfilled and the eCapitaVoucher will be emailed to you. For the bonus S$15 eCapitaVoucher, it can take up to 12 weeks.

Friend of the site, Milelion, has also confirmed that the gifts (including the bonus S$15) is on a per policy basis. Buying 2 single-trip Superior policies, for example, would hence get you two sets of S$55 eCapitaVouchers.

The terms and conditions are linked above so read through while signing up.

Coverage of miles and points

You would find benefits of what you’d expect from most travel insurance policies such as travel delays, medical expenses etc. but one less common form of coverage is also included here and that is the loss of frequent flyer points.

For redemption flights you’ve booked through promos such as Spontaneous Escapes and Global Redemption Sale, your miles are generally non-refundable. This benefit would hence come in handy especially if you have used a substantial amount of miles for your booking.

The Standard plan covers up to S$10,000 for this benefit while the Superior plan has a S$20,000 coverage.
