Extended: HSBC Live+’s 8% Cashback Rate Lives On Until 31st March 2025
Originally ending on 31st December 2024, HSBC Live+’s generous 8% cashback earn rate has been extended by another quarter. The card will continue to give 8% cashback on eligible dining and shopping Merchant Category Codes (MCC) until 31st March 2025.
Thanks to Martin from the Telegram for pointing this out.
Bonus 3% continues for another 3 months
Since its launch, HSBC Live+ has offered 8% cashback on dining and shopping transactions. This is made up of 5% cashback and a promotional 3% bonus to mark its debut.
The 3% bonus cashback was set to end 31st December 2024, making the HSBC Live+ a 5% cashback card. I personally feel that 5% cashback is a little too weak for a card that has a quarterly cashback mechanic. If I have to spend at least S$600 per month on specific categories for 3 consecutive months, the rewards better correspond to the level of effort, especially given how there are cards that give 8% to 17.5% without such trouble.
5% doesn’t quite cut it and HSBC seems to think so too… at least for the next 3 months. It really should be a permanent feature, or in my mind at least 7%, but I guess we will see whether this card will continue to be relevant in 2025 when the end of March 2025 nears.

Fantastic promo is also extended
At the same time, the very generous sign-up promo for HSBC Live+ has also been extended to 2nd January 2025:
