Excellent Deals: iPad, S$400 eCapitaVouchers, Miles and More For Citi Credit Cards
Citibank continues to flex its marketing budget for its credit cards, offering all manners of deals for its suite of credit cards. As far as sign-up gifts for credit cards go, Citi’s deals are probably one of the most generous offers you can find.
My top pick: S$300 cashback for Citi Cash Back and Citi SMRT cards
Two of the best cashback credit cards come from Citibank. Citi Cash Back card gives an easy 8% on grocery spend while Citi SMRT gives 5% cashback on online spends. These are great earn rates that are also easy to use, unlike many of their competitors.
Works for existing cardholders: 48,000 miles with Citi Prestige
Even if you are an existing cardholder of other Citibank credit cards, Citi Prestige’s 48,000 miles sign-up offer will still work for you! The card has worked out so well for me I even paid the annual fee and renewed the card despite only getting 25,000 miles upon renewal. To me, it’s a no-brainer offer if you are someone who is going to travel at least once or twice over the next year and want your travels to be more comfortable while still being cost-efficient.
Alternate promos – SingSaver deals
You may also choose to sign up through SingSaver’s deals if you so desire. A free iPad or S$400 eCapitaVoucher is probably difficult to turn down.
Do note however that SingSaver specifies a waiting time of 4 months from the completion of requirements before gifts are disbursed, and there have been reports of wait times longer than this.
Also, there is a 12-month period where you must hold the card, meaning to say your gift will be subject to clawback if you cancel within this time. There is no holding clause if you opt to sign up for the Citi promos instead.
