As someone with cards from almost every bank, it’s pretty normal to feel left out when banks dangle great deals for new-to-bank customers. For a limited time – provided you don’t already have these two cards – get pretty decent sign-up rewards even if you already have cards from Amex!

If your Amex card was issued by a bank, you still qualify as a new cardholder. For example, if you have a UOB Amex Card or DBS Amex Card, you still count as a new customer to Amex as long as you do not have a Basic Amex Card.

Amex CapitaCard is one card I have been sleeping on until recently. It has been particularly useful because CapitaStar has regularly offered substantial discounts for CapitaCard holders – as much as 10% additional vouchers for eCapitaVoucher purchases on top of the STAR$ the CapitaCard awards.

You can then earn STAR$ from using the CapitaVouchers on top of scanning the receipt for even more STAR$, and the value of STAR$ can be dramatically boosted using SP GreenUP. That’s stacking a lot of rewards on the stuff you can buy across the multitude of stores in CapitaLand’s numerous malls.

As of 29th July, Amex has upsized the referral reward to 50,000 STAR$ (up from 20,000!) which is worth $50 eCapitaVoucher at minimum, and can be easily boosted to $70 with the help of SP GreenUP. Remember to sign up with MyInfo for an additional $20 CapitaVoucher.
