Citi’s February Deal: S$350 Cash, Hot Gadgets, or Miles/Points

For the month of February, applying for Citi cards gives you a choice of three popular and pricey gifts:

  • Dyson V8 Absolute™ (retail S$499)
  • ErgoTune Supreme (retail S$599)
  • Sony WH 1000XM5 (retail S$575)

You need to be a new-to-Citi cardholder (or cancelled your last card more than 12 months ago), and meet the minimum spending requirement. There’s an easy way to meet the spend requirement, so read on to find out.

These gifts are all critically acclaimed as far as I can tell from googling reviews, but if you don’t want any of them, there’s also another highly rated gift option: S$350 in cold hard cash. Actually it’s digitally transferred to your account via PayNow, but you can always withdraw it from your account if you want it cold and hard.

Also, these gifts are fulfilled by SingSaver, and per the terms and conditions can take several months to be fulfilled. This is because they need to verify with the bank that the spending requirement has been met, and this process typically takes a while.

Alternate promo

Alternatively, you can also opt for Citibank’s gifts if they appeal to you more. You get a slightly different selection of cards, and get to choose miles and points rather than just cash or gadgets. A summary of the different promos is found in the table below:

A good way to maximise the current promos would be to sign up for a Citi Card first to enjoy the new-to-Citi bonus, then sign up for Citi Prestige as your second card since that promo works for existing cardholders too.

Citi PayAll works!

This is a very beneficial thing so do take note: you can satisfy the spending requirement using Citi PayAll! The great thing about this is that you now get to pay bills to satisfy the minimum spend rather than worry about what retail transaction to make.

From insurance premiums to income tax, there is a variety of things you can pay. Citi PayAll does not require invoices, and you can also specify an individual or company’s account number to transfer money to. Once you have received your card, you can use the Citi mobile app to easily arrange for a payment within the Citi PayAll tab.

There is a service fee of 2% to be paid, but you also get card rewards on such spend. It’s definitely worth paying for if you want a fuss-free way to clock the spending requirement. A S$500 spend costs just S$10 of service fees and you get your sign-up bonus effortlessly, with points/cashback on that S$500 spend.

Alternatively, you can always go the tried-and-tested method of buying supermarket vouchers, and that should work great for the Citi Cash Back card which gives 8% cashback on grocery spend.
