Amex Offer: Get S$3 off S$6 Public Transportation Fares (Multiple Times!)
A couple of months ago, American Express cards were finally added to SimplyGo, making it possible for Amex cardholders to use their cards across Singapore’s public transportation network. It came with a major downside though — cardholders do not earn any rewards when using their American Express cards to pay for their bus and train fares… not even the True Cashback Card!
This has been a surprisingly harsh decision, but at least for July we now have a way to earn some rewards on our transit fares with our American Express cards, and it’s a pretty decent promo! From 3rd to 31st July 2025, add the offer to your Amex card using the Amex SG app and you can get S$3 off S$6 of public transportation fares up to 5 times per card.
Oh boy, time to go clanging my Amex Platinum against the gantries!
Offer Details
For American Express issued cards:
- Go to your Amex SG app
- Under the card of your choice, tap offers
- Tap the + button of Tap. Pay. Ride. (Transit)
- Repeat per card you own
For DBS or UOB issued Amex cards:
- Tap here
- Input your details
Registrations are capped at 50,000 cards, so register quickly.
Each card with the offer can get S$3 cashback when S$6 of spend on SimplyGo transactions is reached, and this is for up to 5 times per card.
All three of my Amex cards had this offer, which means that I can essentially get 50% off my transport fare this month up to S$90 of spend (S$6 × 5 times × 3 cards). Not too shabby.
Earn extra rewards with DBS or UOB Amex cards
You might, however, wish to use DBS or UOB issued Amex cards as they will earn their usual rewards with the card.

Get up to 140,000 miles with Amex cards!
Having more Amex cards can be a very beneficial thing since you can multiply good offers like this, so it is worth noting that the very, very excellent 100,000 miles promo that American Express has been running for the Platinum card has been extended! This alongside with the 40,000 miles promo for KrisFlyer Ascend. Both offers stack and work for existing cardholders which makes it an incredibly good deal:
