Value for miles?

Here is my advice to see whether a redemption makes sense:

  1. Think about how much you would realistically pay for the flight
  2. Take that amount, minus off taxes you still have to pay when using miles
  3. Divide this resulting amount by the number of miles required
  4. If the value per mile is above 1.5 cents each, I think it’s an okay redemption
