Bonus vouchers if when Team Cashback wins

If Team Cashback wins Round 2, one can get extra rewards on top of the usual sign-up gifts for every card they apply as a new cardholder to the bank.

This means that if you are a new cardholder to Citi and American Express and apply for the Citi Cash Back and Amex True Cashback, you can get S$450 eCapitaVouchers (or one of the other gadgets of choice) and S$150 cash regardless of which team wins. If Team Cashback wins, you will get bonus vouchers of S$200 + S$160!

A new-to-bank customer who applies for all the various cards below will therefore get as much as S$740 in bonus vouchers!

Win a Pair of Return Business Class Tickets to Tokyo, Japan

Each application also gets one chance for a lucky draw with the grand prize of a pair of return business class tickets to Tokyo, Japan!

You can take a bet on both sides

While I’m Governor of Value City, I have also been appointed as Captain for Team Cashback. It’s an appointment I gladly take since it is undeniable that cashback cards currently give outsized value compared to the existing slate of miles cards.

Just mere merit isn’t enough to winning a contest (as we have seen in the last round), so you may want to hedge your bets and apply from both camps instead. This ensures that you are able to enjoy bonus rewards when either side wins, as long as you are within the first 400 to apply.

What to spend on?

You need to meet the minimum spend to qualify for rewards, and note that there are transactions which are excluded. Read the terms and conditions carefully when signing.

Generally, retail transactions like buying stuff or dining out are very safe. Things like bill payments, education expenses and CardUp or ipaymy become a lot iffier.

Do check out this article on what you can spend on to meet the minimum spend:
