Heads Up: Prepare For SG60 Spontaneous Escapes on 15th August 2025
Earlier this year, Singapore Airlines announced a slew of SG60 campaigns that includes promos from Singapore Airlines, Scoot, and Kris+. We already know what they’re offering for Kris+ this month, but of interest is the special Spontaneous Escapes they are promising which is coming on 15th August 2025 for flights in September 2025.

60-hour flash deal with “additional discounts”
Update: KrisFlyer’s Instagram account has confirmed that it would be a 40% discount
Singapore Airlines hasn’t given much details about the promo other than vaguely stating that there would be “additional discounts”. The usual monthly Spontaneous Escapes offers 30% off the usual number of miles required for Saver rates, so we can reasonably expect a discount larger than that.
For April 2025’s Spontaneous Escapes, we saw a 40% discount so I’m guessing we will see a similar number for the promo happening later this month. Going with a 60% discount to coincide with SG60 would probably be hoping for too much, so I’m guessing they’d spin it as “use only 60% of the miles” required.
Perhaps giving some hope that the sale would be significantly more generous is the fact that the airline also announced that this month’s Spontaneous Escapes promo would be a flash deal. Unlike the usual promo where you can book even on the last day of the month (provided there is still availability), this month’s promo will only be on for 60 hours from 12PM 15th August 2025 to 11.59PM on 17th August 2025.
It does give the promo a lot more spontaneity since you have less time to decide on your travel plans for September, but if the discount is large enough for a spontaneous trip I am all game for it.

Prep for the promo if you intend to travel in September
If you have any intention to travel in September 2025, I think it is worth preparing for the promo ahead of time. Having things like your annual leave arranged and being more flexible with destinations helps, but you should also have your miles ready in your account.
It can take anywhere between instant to weeks for bank points to be converted to KrisFlyer miles, so you may want to get that process started so you can better compete for availability when the clock strikes noon on 15th August.
Even if you have no intention of travelling in September, I think it might still be worth converting some miles over in case the deal is really good. A 60% discount might change your lack of travel plans really quickly.
