HSBC TravelOne Promo: up to 24,000 Miles or Gadgets!
New promo alert! HSBC TravelOne is now offering as many as 24,000 miles, or a gadget of your choice. There are 2 ongoing promos to choose from so make suer you use the correct link when applying. Also, existing HSBC cardholders also get sign-up rewards, but the definition has also been tweaked a little so read on for more details.
New cardholder gifts
New cardholders can choose between 1 of 4 gift options when they sign up through SingSaver and fulfil the necessary conditions.
Alternatively, they may choose to sign up for 60,000 Rewards points which are worth 20,000 KrisFlyer miles or 24,000 miles with other airlines. I would recommend going for the latter and will explain why later in this article.
🆕 A new HSBC cardholder refers to those who do not currently have a principal HSBC credit card and have not cancelled any in the past 12 months.
💳 An existing HSBC cardholder refers to those who have not cancelled any card in the past 12 months, and their existing cards were issued more than 12 months ago.
⚠️ It’s possible to be neither a new nor existing cardholder if you do not meet any of the two definitions above. Refer to the terms and conditions for specific terms.

Existing cardholder gift
Existing cardholders will get 30,000 Rewards points instead which are worth 10,000 KrisFlyer miles (or 12,000 miles with other airlines).
To be considered an existing cardholder, your current HSBC card needs to be approved more than 12 months ago. Also, you cannot have canceled any HSBC card in the past 12 months.

Get a business class flight with EVA Air!
HSBC recently increased the number of points required to get KrisFlyer miles, but this promo increases the sign-up reward from its usual 50,000 points to 60,000, offsetting the costlier transfer for KrisFlyer miles. New cardholders can still get 20,000 KrisFlyer miles as before, though I would suggest looking at other airlines.
EVA Air, for instance, is a good airline to consider. 60,000 Rewards points can be converted into 24,000 miles with EVA Air. Spending the S$800 on the TravelOne card will also get you enough points to get about 25,000 miles with EVA Air which is enough for a one-way business class flight to many places in Asia (with a stopover in Taipei). I’m going to talk more about non-KrisFlyer frequent flyer programmes so stay subscribed for updates.
What to spend on?
You need to meet the minimum spend to qualify for rewards. Do note that there are transactions which are excluded. Read the terms and conditions carefully when applying.
Generally, retail transactions like buying stuff or dining out are very safe. Things like bill payments, education expenses and CardUp or ipaymy become a lot iffier and depends on the bank your card is from.
Do check out this article on what you can spend on to meet the minimum spend:
