GXS FlexiCard Promo: 5% Cashback on Overseas Spend

If you’ve missed this promo (like I did) when the bank rolled it out in December, there’s still time to get 5% cashback on overseas spend with your GXS FlexiCard in the month of January 2025. This is on top of GXS FlexiCard’s lack of forex fees and randomised cashback which could make this one of the better cards to use for travel expenses this month with a big caveat to look out for.

Promo Details

To qualify for the 5% cashback, you just need to use your physical GXS FlexiCard. GXS stresses the word “physical”, though GXS FlexiCard isn’t supported on Apple Pay or Google Pay anyway so the physical card is the only way to use it.

There is no minimum spend required, and you will get 5% cashback as long as your spend is made overseas and is in a foreign currency. Cashback is capped at S$25 (reached with S$500 of eligible spend) and will be credited by 28th February 2025.

The catch is that transactions also have to be posted and settled within the promotional period. This means that if your spend is on 29th January 2025 and the transaction is posted in February, this spend will not qualify for 5% cashback. It’s probably risky to use it too near the end of the month, so I would personally stop using the card by 25th January just to be safe.

No forex fee plus randomised cashback

Like quite a few travel cards of late, GXS FlexiCard does charge foreign transaction fees and it promises good exchange rates. I have yet to test this out but it should fare pretty similarly with other cards that have no forex fee.

For each transaction that is at least S$10, GXS FlexiCard offers randomised cashback of up to S$3. While randomised cashback is usually pretty lame, getting 5% cashback on it means that this could well be the best card to use for overseas spend… just that there is possibly only under 2 weeks to enjoy this.
