✈️ Promo 1 (Card Only)

For new cardholders only, choose 1:

  • 30,000 miles: pay annual fee of S$196.20
  • 20,000 miles: get a first-year annual fee waiver

Both options require a min. spend of S$800 within 60 days. I recommend opting for the fee waiver unless you are okay to pay S$196.20 for 10,000 miles.

What options to pick?

Between the three gift options SingSaver offers, the AirPods Pro is perhaps the best value you can get provided you want the earphones. Otherwise, it’s between the 15,000 Max Miles and S$150 cash. Personally, I’d pick the Max Miles since at the worst, you are able to redeem them for S$150 worth of gift cards, and if you use them for flights it’d possible to get better value from them. Sign up for a heymax account for a sign-up bonus of up to 1,000 Max Miles.

For StanChart’s offer, you can opt to pay the annual fee of S$196.20 for 45,000 miles, or get a first-year fee waiver and get 25,000 miles. Either way, you have to make a spend of S$3,000 within the first 2 months from card approval so the difference between both choices is essentially whether you want to pay S$196.20 for 20,000 more miles. This is a definite yes for me since it’s just under a cent per mile which is a good price to buy miles at.

In short, if I were to sign up, I’d pick 15,000 Max Miles and the annual fee option for 45,000 miles.

What to spend on?

You need to meet the minimum spend to qualify for rewards. Do note that there are transactions which are excluded. Read the terms and conditions carefully when applying.

Generally, retail transactions like buying stuff or dining out are very safe. Things like bill payments, education expenses and CardUp or ipaymy become a lot iffier and depends on the bank your card is from.
