Amex Shop Small 2025: Get up to S$15 Cashback Per Amex Card!
From 1st August to 31st August 2025, register your American Express card and you can get S$3 bonus cashback for every eligible S$10 transaction you make at participating retailers and restaurants across Singapore.
Step 1: Register your Amex card
Registration is required and you can do so here (check back on 1st August 2025 if the link isn’t active yet). Both American Express issued cards and co-branded cards like DBS yuu (Amex) or UOB Absolute are eligible for this promo! For American Express issued cards, you can also save the offer from within the Amex app.
While the promo is capped at 5 times, it is on a per card basis so you can enjoy this promo as many times as the number of Amex cards you have multiplied by 5. I have 8 of them, I think, so I can use this promo 40 times if I wanted to.
Of course, if you don’t have an American Express card yet, tap here for some cards you can sign up for (stay subscribed for new promos coming soon) or check out the list of co-branded Amex cards below:

Step 2: Spend at participating merchants
Only spending at participating retailers and restaurants would work. Take heed that not all the outlets of the same brand name would qualify. For instance, Toast Box at West Gate qualifies for this promo, but not the Toast Box outlet at JEM.
To figure out whether a branch qualifies, check out American Express’ list.
You can also look out for this placard displayed at participating shops:

Step 3: just wait for your cashback to be credited
Cashback should be credited within 5 business days, though American Express states that it could take up to 90 days. From my past couple of experiences with this promo, it usually takes a couple of days to show up in the transactions of the card I used.
Cashback is equivalent to 30% rebate on top of your card’s rewards
If each of your transaction is S$10, getting S$3 cashback is a staggering 30% cashback. You also get to keep whatever reward your Amex card gives you, from the 1.5% cashback of the Amex True Cashback to the 35X yuu Points the DBS yuu (Amex) can offer on yuu merchants (essentially Toast Box and a couple of Singtel shops for this promo).
Since the S$3 cashback is given once per transaction, it makes sense to break up larger transactions into S$10 ones as far the cashier (and your sense of courtesy) allows. Most would probably be okay splitting a S$30 bill into 3 transactions if the place isn’t busy, but if you’re trying to buy a Galaxy Z Fold7 at Courts with 40 different Amex cards… please don’t.
Options that I find useful
How good this promo is highly depends on your spending habits, of course, and I’ve found this very useful in past years for things like Starbucks card top-ups. It’s 30% off future coffee fixes, and it’s easy enough to top up S$10 each time across several visits so it doesn’t become too bothersome to staff members and others. Update: it appears that Starbucks is no longer a Shop Small merchant.
Mos Burger is pretty nice too since most of their meals cross the S$10 mark, and Toast Box prices become almost reasonable after you factor in nearly 50% of rebates from both this promo’s cashback and the DBS yuu’s 35X earn rate.
Finally, I also used quite a fair bit of the promo last year on Pet Lovers Centre vouchers. 30% on pets supplies is too good to pass when you have a perpetually hungry cat.
