2 Free Suitcases Promo: DCS Credit Card Offering 5% Cashback

Here’s an interesting promo where you get not one but 2 suitcases for signing up for 2 credit cards at once, and it’s from DCS. DCS is perhaps more well-known as Diners Club which supposedly pioneered the whole credit card business! The Singapore arm has recently rebranded as DCS with a couple of interesting cards and promos.
DCS CASHBACK Credit Card – 5% with just S$400 min spend, no sub-limits
DCS CASHBACK Credit Card is a really interesting card to pick up and not just because it’s name is shouting at you; the cashback rate is 5% without many conditions. Unlike cards like DBS LiveFresh or UOB EVOL, there is also no sub-limits so you don’t have to carefully manage your spending between online or contactless transactions.
The only requirement is a S$400 minimum monthly spend and a pretty standard list of exclusions. The cashback maxes out at S$50 each month which is good for S$1,000 of spend. As far as decent cashback cards go, this is pretty much fuss-free and you just need to hit the minimum spend for your 5% cashback.
The catch is that you need to find retailers and merchants that accept DCS, and you can tap here for a list. It is nowhere near the ubiquity of Mastercard or Visa, but it is still entirely possibly to find many things to spend on.
DCS Ultimate Platinum Card – unlimited 2% cashback card
For the promo, you will need to apply two DCS cards, so you may want to pick the DCS Ultimate Platinum Card as the second choice.
As far as unlimited cashback cards go, a 2% cashback rate is perhaps the highest, and that is the rate given by DCS Ultimate Platinum. The lack of cashback cap, however, is until 30th June 2023, after which the maximum cashback is S$200 per month which still allows for a roomy capacity of S$10,000 of spend.
Lounge access
DCS Cardholders also enjoy one free lounge visit per year (regardless of number of cards), and that’s another perk you get on top of the card features. Thanks Adam!

Conclusion
Before you apply, you might want to know that DCS has had a recent spate of bad reviews on their Google listing relating to customer service issues. I had a brief experience with them once, and managed to cancel my card without much fuss, but there seems to be quite few people having issues with the credit card company. Our own Telegram group had a couple of complaints too.
To their credit, DCS seems to be replying each bad review with their email address, and there are indeed a couple of reviews edited to show that the person’s issues were eventually resolved. Personally, I would love having a pair of new suitcases, and the DCS CASHBACK card is compelling enough to be part of my card collection which is why I’m applying despite the negative reviews.
