KrisFlyer Global Redemption Sale September 2025: Get 20% Off Redemption Flights

Singapore Airlines yet another Global Redemption Sale from 9th to 21st September 2025 and you can get 20% off the miles required for Economy and Premium Economy in selected destinations. It is valid for travel from 1st November 2025 to 31st May 2026, though blackout dates apply.

Eligible Flights and Blackout Period

There is a blanket blackout period from 20th November 2025 to 11th January 2026. Each destination will also have its own blackout periods:

Is 20% a good discount?

20% is a little less than the 25% we’ve seen last year, and quite a bit lower than the 30% Spontaneous Escapes usually gives. In return, you get to book ahead of time up till end of May 2026. Sadly, unlike last year, there aren’t any Business Class redemptions available.

I picked a couple of destinations just to see if it makes sense. If one were to travel to Bangkok for Songkran in 2026, Singapore Airlines ticket prices are around S$300 or so. With this promo, you can redeem the flight with 21,600 miles and around S$98 of taxes.

This is essentially offsetting S$202 of cost (S$300 – S$98) with 21,600 miles, which is getting around 0.93 cents per mile. I would encourage getting at least 1.5 cents per mile if possible, so this isn’t an attractive redemption.

A much further (and pricier) journey might make sense. A return flight to Barcelona in early April 2026 will cost 67,200 miles and S$96 of taxes with this promo. The same flight costs S$1,319 by cash. You would hence offset S$1,223 with 67,200 miles getting 1.82 cents of value per mile. That‘s not too bad, but this is of course 15 hours in Economy class.
