Kris+ June 2023 Challenges: S$10 Rebate With Mastercard and Dining Perks

There is a new monthly spend challenge for Kris+ for the month of June 2023, another S$10 dining rebate, and 12 bonus miles per dollar to be earned on selected dining places.

Find these promos and their terms and conditions in the Kris+ app, and consider using my link to download it if you haven’t already done so:

Spend 2 × S$20 for S$10 rebate

From 1st to 30th June 2023, make two transactions of at least S$20 spend each on Kris+ with a Mastercard debt or credit card and you can get S$10 rebate in the form of 1,500 KrisPay miles.

You have to start the challenge within the Challenges tab, and the 1,500 KrisPay miles are instantly credited upon fulfilment of the challenge requirements. The miles are non-transferrable, which means you can’t send them to your KrisFlyer account and they can only be used to offset future Kris+ payments. You might want to keep them until miles-back promos come along (read the Kris+ guide for more info).

Singapore Air has been onto our transaction-splitting shenanigans for a while now and have expressly stated that splitting of transactions isn’t allowed. Small bummer to an otherwise good deal.

2 miles per dollar for iStudio

iStudio recently dropped to 1 mile per dollar from its previous 3 miles per dollar earn rate, but from 3rd to 18th June 2023 it is offering 2 miles per dollar when you pay via Kris+.

Personally, one of my favourite ways to clock Kris+ spending challenges is to buy App Store gift cards from iStudio. You can easily buy S$20 worth of gift cards today, then another S$20 tomorrow to satisfy the Mastercard spend challenge. It’s not splitting transactions when they are two separate transactions 😉 (I would be a bit more hesitant of doing both transactions one after another since this looks like splitting of transactions to Kris+)

This depends how quickly you consume these App Store credits, of course, and for me it’s pretty easy since I have an iCloud subscription along with a bit of App Store spend every now and then.

S$10 rebate for S$100 spend at selected dining places + 12 miles per dollar

If like me you have overlooked this promo last month, there’s still a chance to use this promo until 30th June 2023 at the following dining establishments:

• Li Bai Cantonese Restaraunt
• Mikuni
• Red House Seafood
• SO France Bistro
• Tanglin Cookhouse
• Tapas,24
• TUNGLOK Seafood
• Wooloomooloo Steakhouse
• USHIO Sumiyaki and Sake Bar
• The Dining Room
• Tandoor

These are some relatively pricey restaurants and you have to make a minimum S$100 spend for the S$10 rebate.

For some of the places, I’m not sure it’s the best deal too. One could get substantial discounts up to 50% at Mikuni through Amex’s Love Dining or Accor Plus Explorer memberships, and there are mixed reports whether you can use of Kris+ for payment while using these dining programmes.

Another restaurant that caught my eye, USHIO Sumiyaki and Sake Bar, is selling S$100 cash vouchers for S$80 on Kris+ itself, so that seems like a better deal than getting S$10 off S$100.

In any case, you get 12 bonus miles per dollar for transactions done at these restaurants or in the app itself, so I might consider having a nice meal this month at one of these dining places.

These bonus miles can indeed be transferred to your KrisFlyer account for flight redemptions, and as usual you also earn your usual rewards from the card you are using to pay on Kris+.
